8-Day Bale Mountains Trek Itinerary
Meet your guide and scout. Visit the Dinsho wildlife area and begin trekking through mountain grasslands and woodland. Look for mountain nyala, Menelik's bushbuck and endemic birds.
Overnight: Dinsho Camp/Lodge
Begin the main trek through the Bale highlands. Enjoy spectacular scenery and wildlife watching along the route.
Overnight: Sodota Camp
Trek through Afro-alpine landscapes toward Wasema. Enjoy photography, birdwatching and views of the surrounding valleys.
Overnight: Wasema Camp
Continue deeper into the wilderness, passing high-altitude landscapes and lakes.
Overnight: Garba Guracha Camp
Continue toward the spectacular Sanetti Plateau. Search for the endangered Ethiopian wolf and observe the unique high-altitude vegetation.
Overnight: Sanetti Camp
Explore the plateau and the area around Tullu Dimtu, one of Ethiopia's highest peaks. Wildlife watching and photography.
Overnight: Sanetti/Goba area
Descend from the highlands toward the magnificent Harenna Forest. Enjoy forest trekking, birdwatching and wildlife observation.
Overnight: Harenna/Goba
Morning forest exploration, then return by vehicle toward Goba or Dinsho. End of the Bale Mountains adventure.
