Simien Mountains National Park

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Simien Mountains are one of Africa's most dramatic landscapes — a chain of jagged peaks, deep gorges and sheer escarpments dropping thousands of metres to the lowlands below.

The park is famous for large troops of gelada baboons grazing the cliff edges, and offers some of Ethiopia's finest multi-day trekking, with camps looking out over the escarpment at sunset.
